Field Day

Tyson had Field Day today.  The morning was for grades K-3.  I always go in to days like today with very low expectations.  It is often times hard for Tyson to be in a big group and then being asked to perform on top of it, I really thought it might be too much.  I wasn't sure he would do any of it.  He lined up for the first race excited as can be.  It was a very short run.  He did it like he knew exactly what he was doing.  Next up were the sack races.  I thought no way.  He is going to hate the feeling of the bag and no way he can physically do it.  He took awhile to get into the sack and missed all the legs of the Kindergartners.  Next up were the 3rd graders.  I thought they were just going to have him sit down.  Instead he raced the 3rd graders!  And he didn't even get last!!!  He jumped up and down and never fell.  I would have never believed it!  Now it was time for the 3 legged race.  I thought no way.  He is never going to be able to do this physically and he will never hold hands with someone for a whole race.  But by golly there he went.  Holding hands, never falling, and didn't get last!  And of course in only Tyson style, he did all the races with one arm in the air starting cheers for him.  Man was I a proud Mommy today!
