Soccer

When Tyson was 4ish we tried soccer.  It was pretty terrible.  IF he was on the field he was playing with the flag in the corner or just wandering around without a clue there was a game going on.  We decided that soccer may not be his sport.

This year we decided to try this indoor soccer league.  They don't practice and play games inside on Saturday's.  It was a very small commitment so if he didn't like it it was really no big deal.  Well...he loved it.  And actually he turned out to be pretty good at it.  He did get a few handballs called on him, but in his defense he did it really quick and only wanted to stop the ball so he could kick it the way he wanted.  :)  He even scored a few goals.  And he tried to be goalie!  And again he was surrounded by good kiddos that were very patient with him and really tried to include him in the games.  It was a fun little season.

It Was 80 Degrees One Day...

We had one day that it was 80 degrees.  It was wonderful!  And there happened to be a K-State baseball game.  What a perfect way to spend an 80 degree day in March.

My little K-Staters!

My little poser.

Wannabes...

Charlie is completly obsessed with Willie the Wildcat.  He wants him to sign anything and everything when we go places.  He will NOT leave him alone.  At home he pretends to be Willie.  He does the whole routine.  Joel and I didn't notice that Willie does the same exact routine everytime, until we saw Charlie doing it at home and then watched Willie at a basketball game.  Charlie's routine goes something like this...he grabs a couple pairs of socks or underwear and sets them down in front of him, rubs his hands together, does the K-S-U chant, picks up the socks/underwear and starts pumping up the crowd, and then throws the socks/underwear to the most excited person in the room!  Obviously the socks/underwear double as the free t-shirts Willie throws out.  I guess he watches things closer then we realize.

And one last cute picture just because I don't think there is anything cuter then a little boy in a baseball hat!

We Want Spring

We feel like we have been trapped inside for 3 months.  We are so ready for Spring and warmer weather!  The other day it was kind of nice out so we decided to take the boys for a bike ride.  Going around the neighborhood went so well we decided that we would load up the bikes and the dog in the truck (you know we have to justify buying a truck) and head to a trail.

I have to explain in a little more detail what this actually means for our family.  It was so nice to have Tyson and Charlie both riding bikes.  Pedaling bikes has been something we have had to work on very hard.  Both boys had a hard time learning.  Tyson is riding his new big bike with no training wheels, and Charlie is on his "big" bike (not the neighbor's little bike) with training wheels.  When we get to do things "normal" people do we think it is pretty great!  The boys were so proud, and if it would have been just a little warmer it would have been a perfect day!

Someone Gets ALL The Love

Ridiculous, right??  And Joel says he doesn't like her...

Cute Picture

And just because this is such a cute picture of Tyson I thought I would share it.  He was Sunflower child of the week at school in February.  One of the activities was to have the Panda Bear spend the weekend with you.  He took that thing everywhere and slept with him every night.

Sleeping with the book before he took it to school.

He also had to fill out this paper.  I let him do it all by himself and wrote down his first answer to all of it.

My favorite color is "blue".  I love "Charlie". A word that describes me is "happy".  One thing I don't like is "nothing".  When I grow up I want to be a "basketball player".
Love him!

Snow In Kansas

Last winter the boys never even wore snow boots, not one day.  This year we have had a ton of snow, well for Kansas anyway.  It is quite entertaining to listen to people talk about these huge snowstorms and calling snow days the night before when it hasn't even started snowing yet.  They cancel school because kids will be too cold at the bus stops, makes me laugh.  Anyway, the boys really did love the snow this year and would have played in it all day if we would have let them.  The dog literally was in heaven with the snow.  Made for some fun snow days! (although I still say they should have been in school :) )

Happy 5th Birthday Charlie!

Charlie is 5!  This one keeps me on my toes.  He wants to be just like his big brother so badly.  He rocks that annoying little brother role like no other.  When he is being sweet, he is one of the sweetest boys I know.  When he is being naughty, he is one of the naughtiest boy I know.  There is no middle ground with this little man.  He tests my patience every day.  If he is quiet, he is getting into trouble.  But then he has that amazing smile and personality that I just can't imagine not having in my every day.  I makes me smile, he makes me mad, he makes me shake my head in disbelief, and most of all he makes me laugh.  I am sure going to miss him next year when he is in kindergarten all day!

Shrek

Shrek, the play, came to town in February so we decided to take the boys.  I thought it would be good to get them dressed up and give them the whole experience.  Since they looked so handsome I thought it would be a good time for a photo shoot.  I just wanted one picture of them both looking at the camera and smiling.  This is what I got...

Charlie Going To Run Errands

Why not, right?

Happy 9th Birthday Tyson!

I know everybody says it.  I know I say it all the time.  But seriously how is my sweet boy 9?!?  He got his very own bowling ball for Christmas so he decided that he wanted a bowling birthday party.  As usual, I invited a ton of kids because I never really know how many will come.  And as usual almost all of them showed up.  It was a great party and I love more than anything watching other kids interact with him and treat him so kindly.  The move to a new school this year was obviously one I was worried about a lot especially about him leaving his friends.  But as I knew deep in my heart he would be fine, times like these make me realize that he really can make friends and little people can be really sweet and accept him for who he is.  It was a great day!

Grandma and Grandpa Lundstrom came down to visit that weekend too.  It was great to have some help at that crazy party.  They also got to go to the KSU game with the boys which is always an experience.  Both boys absolutely LOVE watching KSU play whether it is football, basketball, baseball, it doesn't matter.  They bleed purple! :)
